The latest BET ENTHUSE Partnership Conference, held on 20th June 2024 at Jubilee High School, proved to be an overwhelming success, bringing together teachers from across the Trust's primary, secondary and specialist schools. The event reinforced the Trust's productive partnership with STEM Learning, a collaboration dedicated to advancing STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education.
The conference provided a rich professional development experience tailored specifically for STEM colleagues, with attendees selecting from a diverse range of professional development sessions, gaining valuable strategies to enhance STEM teaching and learning methodologies. Dedicated time was also allotted for schools to collaboratively plan crossover projects and enrichment activities for the upcoming 2024/25 academic year.
The BET ENTHUSE Partnership with STEM Learning is a comprehensive initiative aimed at boosting student attainment, engagement and science capital in all BET schools. Its objectives include improving teaching within the schools through targeted CPD, facilitating the sharing of best practices, enhancing curriculum design, coordinating crossover work between primary, secondary, and specialist schools and improving supra-curricular and extra-curricular enrichment activities, including raising awareness of STEM careers. Additionally, the partnership focuses on improving staff recruitment, retention and fostering a strong sense of belonging within the STEM community.
