IT Technician

My journey at the Bourne Education Trust has been really enlightening for me. Originally, IT wasn't my first choice - I dreamt of becoming a scientist, exploring the mysteries of the universe. However, life had a different plan for me.

When I realised that my path wouldn't lead me in this direction, I began exploring my other passions. IT quickly emerged as a front-runner. I noticed that I had an innate understanding of computers and was the go-to person for family IT problems, from data transfers to software installations. Moreover, my circle of friends shared a similar interest in IT careers, which fuelled my curiosity even more.

To deepen my IT knowledge, I enroled in a two-year Cybercrime and Security course at Uxbridge College. It was an eye-opener into the ever-evolving world of technology and its profound impact on our lives.

During this time, I also volunteered as a Teaching Assistant at a local education centre, helping pupils aged 4-16 with their core subjects. This experience prepared me for a full-time role in an educational setting.

Now, as part of the Bourne Education Trust, I see a bright future ahead. The job has not only provided stability but also allowed me to refine and advance my skills. Currently, I'm involved in enhancing the school environment through digital signage, adding vibrancy to showcase school activities, from after-school clubs to individual pupil achievements.

Working within a multi-academy trust like the Bourne Education Trust has been a rewarding experience. It's a place where passions can evolve, skills can flourish and careers can thrive. I look forward to the exciting journey ahead and am grateful for the opportunities the Trust has offered me.
