Bourne Education Trust is delighted to announce the appointment of Paul Hemmings. Paul will join the Trust’s existing team of Education Directors working together to provide education leadership across all school settings and phases of learning.

Paul has been a teacher for over 25 years, with the most recent 9 years serving as a secondary Headteacher.  During his time in this role, Paul led his school from special measures to good in 30 months, securing a second good judgement 5 years later, doubling the school roll and overseeing the design, build and move to brand new buildings on a new site.

Previously, he has held senior leadership positions as a Director of Sixth Form, Assistant Headteacher and Deputy Headteacher, and within his previous academy trust, a Trust Leader in education.

Paul’s governance roles have included being a Governor in a primary school and a sixth form college, as well as being a Trustee of an academy trust with 15 schools.  He has also been Chair of a Local Children’s Partnership.

Prior to qualifying as a teacher, Paul completed a MA in European Economics and a BA in Business Economics.

Penny Alford, Chief Education Officer, said: ‘I am delighted that we have been able to secure such a high calibre appointment. Paul's experience outside of the Trust within secondary and post-16 will most certainly bring further breadth to and complement our existing team; supporting our future priorities and ambitions.'
